BOXWOOD MEXICAN MARTINI
We’re dubbing this our cocktail of the summer. While this Tex-Mex classic has been around since the 1980’s, its true origins remain a subject of spirited debate, as is fitting for anything born in the Lone Star State. Some trace its roots to Cedar Door, an iconic Tex-Mex haunt in Austin, according to a piece in Food & Wine. Others champion Trudy's, another venerable establishment in the city. We were reminded of its greatness at Oak Cliff local haunt, Encina’s Martini Wednesdays.
Regardless of its precise birthplace, this Mexican Martini is for aficionados of margaritas and martinis alike. We invite you to try our Boxwood spin on this timeless Tex-Mex cocktail. Cheers, y’all!
